About Devine

In the quiet village of Batheegama, before the bustling township

of Dickwella, on the South West Coast, Sri Lanka, you will discover,
Devine Contemporary Art.

It is in an area you would least expect to find a gallery,
particularly showing high-end contemporary art.

Owner/Director, Gail Devine born in New Zealand had a varied career working in advertising, art and writing, in her home country, Australia, Indonesia and South America winning many international awards along the way, with her late husband international graphic designer Les Mason, (Google his retrospective exhibition ‘Solo’ at the National Gallery of Victoria, Australia). They lived to travel, eschewing a big home with all the trimmings using the money for air tickets to travel to places no place like home. Artists and nomads, they experienced the undiscovered parts of the world before these parts opened up to less seasoned travellers.

In her Sri Lankan gallery, she is distilling thoughts from these travels in her studio, gallery and home, open to the public by appointment. Email to visit.

She also sells treasures collected from all over the world. If you are a retro/vintage fan you should check out what the artist is offering from her personal wardrobe and jewellery collection.

Drop by to visit if you need something stimulating after a morning on the beach.
